Having joined the company in 1997, Andrew has been an integral part of the business over the last 23 years
Initially joining as a Control Room Operator, Andrew’s potential was soon recognised and he was duly promoted into operations and then as the Regional Operations Manager for Suffolk, Essex and Northumbria managing key corporate council and public infrastructure contracts. With an appetite to understand the technology and services that security companies could deliver, Andrew then worked within the business development team, delivering security solutions of physical, electronic, and partnered services.
With the merger of ISL Dardan and Gardwell Security, Andrew was instrumental in managing the Control Room Services and integrated both companies’ policies and procedures into a uniformed approached which led him to become the companies Quality, Safety and Environmental Manager.
A Masters in Business Administration and trained auditor for ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001, Andrew has successfully maintained our compliance to these standards and as one of the top companies within the ACS Approved Contractor Scheme.
Andrew holds a NEBOSH (National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health) and is now completing a Diploma in Applied Health and Safety. Andrew believes in a hands-on, simple and communicative approach, encouraging all staff to be a part of making the workplace a safe and enjoyable environment, holding regular health and safety forums, visiting staff on our sites to audit and discuss any concerns and providing regular advice through our employee portal, newsletters, tool box talks and training.
With his enthusiasm for ‘always looking at what we can do next’, Andrew has made Dardan Security’s attitude to health and safety part of its daily life and something that is encouraged to discuss and improve, not to suppress, along with improving our environmental responsibilities through changes to our behaviour and seeking alternative solutions to reduce our carbon footprint.
Outside of work, Andrew is an avid walker and cyclists (off road), which he believes it a bit safer than off road endurance racing he used to compete at on a motorbike.
